At age 5, my second son’s two favorite things were the movie Toy Story and dinosaurs. So when he couldn’t decide between the two party themes, we decided to combine them! I think the end result was so cute, and the birthday boy absolutely loved it, which is the most important thing in my book anyway! I hope you enjoy these dinosaur party ideas!
-The Rex cake has to be the favorite detail. It really looked just like Rex from Toy Story!
-The Rex cake pops were also very cute.
-The dinosaur treats were all easy to make and helped make the table look so festive.
-The bamboo backdrop with balloons and green leaves turned out perfect!
-The dinosaur track birthday banner turned out so cute! I simply cut the shape and letters out on my Silhouette Cameo and assembled it with my glue gun.
-The burlap table overlays blended in perfectly with the theme.
-The dinosaur hats and salt dough fossils turned out SO cute!
-The Rex invitations turned out so cute!

For the party favors, we made salt dough dinosaur fossils. They were so easy and fun to make. We used small plastic dinosaurs as the mold, and after they were done baking we painted them. The kids really enjoyed making and packaging these, and it made for a great afternoon learning activity to keep everyone active! I also found these perfect dinosaur hats at Dollar General! You can’t beat $1 a piece and the kids immediately put them on when they sat down to eat. It was so cute to watch them enjoying the party!
We always let the birthday boy or girl help plan their party, from scrolling pinterest to gather ideas, to creating a list of festive foods, to deciding on the decor and helping with some of the crafty items. It’s something we really enjoy doing as a family and seeing his smiles like this are what it’s all about! The joy on his face makes all the hard work worth it.
I hope you’ll pin this party and save it for later:
