These fun healthy snacks for kids are sponsored by Happy Family Yogurt but the content and opinions expressed are my own.
As a busy Mama to five kiddos under the age of nine, I strive to create a happy family every day! One of the key ingredients to happiness in my home is full tummies, so I like to have a variety of healthy snacks ready for playtime, after school and whenever one of the kids needs a little boost. Sometimes snacktime can get mundane, so I’m excited to share eight of my go-to fun healthy snacks for kids and I think you’ll love these quick, easy and HEALTHY snack options as much as your kids.
First up, these Yogurt-Dipped Frozen Bananas are a crowd favorite in my home. Simply cut a banana in half, place a skewer in the bottom, and dip in Happy Family Yogurt. Put on a parchment covered sheet pan and top with sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, or chopped nuts. Place in the freezer for 30 minutes or until frozen. These are great for those hot days as a substitute for a sugar-filled popsicle.
By the way, I’m so thankful Happy Family Yogurt has these pouches as an option. They have the benefit of probiotics and no added sweeteners. I like to use for fun recipes like the above or toss in lunch boxes, my travel cooler, and the diaper bag. I love that yogurt is a great snack for ALL my kids, even my baby girl loves yogurt and it’s a great snack option for babies getting started on solid foods due to it being rich in nutrients like calcium, protein, and vitamins. Happy Family Yogurt is always on my shopping list when I hit Walmart for necessities (click here for savings)!
One of our other favorite snacks is the classic and super easy, “Ants on a Log”. I serve these with raisins on top, but also like to change it up and make fun creations like this Snail. Simply spread peanut butter in a length of celery and add an apple slice, two mini chocolate chips for eyes, and pieces of pretzels for the antennas. These are crunchy, healthy and delicious!
My next two fun healthy snack options for kids go over really well, because if your kids are like mine, they like anything “on a stick”… grape poppers are simply grapes attached to a cute toothpick and dipped in melted white candy. I like to reduce sugar when I can, but a little dip of candy is a fun element to this snack. Dip mini chocolate chips in the candy as well to make little eyes.
Fruit kabobs are beautiful as well as healthy. They are fun for parties in addition to snacks and kids even love to assemble their own by threading bite-sized fruit slices/ pieces onto skewers. I have the cutest mini cookie cutters that I like to use to cut fun shapes in fruit, cheese, and other foods to make them a little more fun. This one is easy peasy!!
Banana Bites are another super simple recipe that results in a yummy and nutritious snack. Slice a banana into chunks, top with sprinkles and mini chocolate chips and these will disappear in no time!
When we have a little extra time for snack time I love making Fruit Pizza with my kids. The “pizzas” are simple to assemble, healthy and the kids can customize their own “pizzas” to their taste. I use a graham cracker as the base, spread with whipped cream cheese and top with sliced fruit (whatever I have on hand!), definitely fun healthy snacks for kids.
Nutella Apple Slices are another favorite. I’m not sure you can get much better than creamy Nutella on top of crisp, sweet apple slices! Top with chopped nuts or sprinkles and you’re kids will love this colorful snack!
And last but not least, one of my personal favs… Cucumber Sandwiches. Not the typical tea party sandwiches but….cut out some fun shaped slices of cheese, add some turkey meat, and you’ve got a fun protein-packed healthy option. You can also easily add sliced tomato and avocado to this!
