When I found out the gender of my first child, I was elated to be having a boy. I was thinking about all the fun boy things my husband would be able to do with him, like fishing and coaching his sports teams. But as silly as it sounds, I also worried about a little boy bringing frogs and lizards in my house, one of my fears! Frogs and lizards aside, being a boy mom is one of my greatest joys, and while I’m as feminine as they come, there’s nothing like the love of a son. I’m most happy when I see my boy’s smiling, laughing, and enjoying life, so I get really serious about gift giving at Christmas time. I want gifts that surprise, that delight, and that can be enjoyed throughout the year. I’m excited to share the BEST gift idea for boys.
This post is sponsored by New Bright, however, all opinions are my own.
I surprised my two oldest boy’s, age nine and seven, with an early Christmas gift, the New Bright Radio Controlled Polaris RZR. I can still remember the Christmas my oldest son got his first remote control car. There’s just something about them! Being able to master the remote and control the movement of the car, they just love it! They were very excited about the size of the Polaris and immediately started reading about the features.
I couldn’t get it out of the box before they were running around the backyard gathering rocks and sticks to make an obstacle course. The weather had been drizzling rain all day, but they were so excited there was no way they were going to stay inside with this new toy awaiting them. We put on our sweaters and headed out to test it out.
The size is substantial at nearly 15 pounds and it’s evident that it is durable which is great for all the rough play expected in the future. My boy’s set up a course of rocks, sticks, and logs and had fun watching it zoom around and climb over their backyard course. I love it when I find toys that allow them to play together. While we have one remote, they had so much fun playing together and suggesting different tracks and maneuvers. However, with two frequencies available, you can have a single option, or play with a friend as well. In fact, it can race up to 12 vehicles at once!
They commented on the big, knobby tires that will drive over sticks and boards making it really more ‘all-terrain’ just like the real thing. It has independent spring suspension, with forward and reverse driving as well as right and left steering. I love that it includes details like mini flags, a semi-open cockpit, and sporty decals. With a little practice, they were able to maneuver it really well and it’s a favorite choice during backyard play time. We’ve also taken it for a couple of trips around the block and they love sending it flying down the driveway and around the curves of our cul-de-sac.
My four-year-old and six-year-old were waiting for their turn as well. It’s really made for kids ages eight and above, but they had fun having a turn. This is such a great gift idea for boys (and girls) who love to be outdoors and love to play with toys like radio controlled cars. You can gift it to your child, grandchild, or it is a great gift from an aunt or uncle. With the size of the car, it’s such a fun gift to find under the Christmas tree this year. If you want to surprise your kids with this fun RC toy, head to Walmart where you can find yours now!
Here’s a handy pin to save this for later. I hope your family loves this gift idea for boys, thanks so much for stopping by today!
