It’s so easy to think of ourselves last, isn’t it? On busy days, if I let myself I can skip lunch without thinking about it or never pick up a glass of water. That’s how busy life can be, but if I don’t make my health a priority, I can’t continue to function, be productive or be the kind of joyful mom I want to be! From handling mom duties to a full-time career, the hours or minutes in a day can quickly slip away, making it oh so easy to lose track of our goals. I’m excited to share five healthy habits for busy moms that anyone can apply to your day.

Consuming the right amount of water each day can do amazing things for your body and for your skin. Your face will not only look visibly brighter, but I once read that a good practice is to drink half your weight in ounces of water, so I try to get in 65-70 ounces of water. I’ve seen people do this successfully several ways:
- Start your day by drinking 8 ounces of cold water.
- Keep a bottle of water in your purse so you always have it with you.
- Keep an empty glass at your desk and fill it first thing in the morning, and refill it throughout the day.
- Refill an empty milk jug and write the goal on the side.
- I personally like to open a water bottle and refill it three times, then I recycle the bottle and start fresh the next day.
A full body workout is one of the best things you can do, but if you are limited on time, make time for a short workout, a bit of cardio, or a brisk walk around the block. The important part is to get yourself moving every day, get your heart pumping, and get your metabolism moving.
I am a huge proponent of probiotics. Probiotics have done so much for my overall health. I had never done the 2-week challenge with Activia, but I was excited to try it and see how I felt. I have eaten their cereal yogurt cup, which I love. But I had not tried their new twice-a-day Activia Dailies. They are just 3 ounces and are in liquid yogurt form, so you simply drink it! There was a blueberry flavor available at Walmart, but I LOVED the strawberry. It’s like drinking a dessert, but it’s so much better for you and it’s packed with Activia’s billions of live and active probiotics which helps support my digestive health.
Because of the depletion of soil and the number of processed foods consumed, many people are not getting the nutrients they need for their body to function. I take a few different supplements daily that ensure I’m getting the vitamins and nutrients I need, which in turn help with the overall way I feel, my ability to fight off illness, my ability to sleep soundly, and my energy levels.
This is where I can slip up the most. Since I still have three little ones at home, I often fit my blog work in during their nap time, and after they go to bed at night. However, when I’m not rested I get sick easier, I’m irritable, and I’m not as intentional with my kids. Sleep is key to our overall health so join me in making it a priority!
If I simply prioritize these five things, I feel better and I am more rested. I also feel less agitated, and I’m generally in a happier mood which has an impact on my entire household, am I right? I would love to hear what you do to make your health a priority, please leave a comment below. Also, here is a handy pin to save this for later.
