The combination of chocolate and peanut butter is seriously my favorite thing. Give me all the chocolate and peanut butter treats! This is one of my weak spots. Santa Claus and the Easter bunny may bring the kids chocolate peanut butter candy just so I can eat it later…and it is always the first thing to go! Add in banana and I am seriously in Heaven! This chocolate peanut butter banana protein smoothie recipe is one of my favorite things. I can have this for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or even for a treat when I am needing something chocolate!

The best part of this protein smoothie recipe? You can hide spinach and/or kale in it and it is high in protein, but very low calorie and low in sugar. Sounds like a dream? It’s is! There are a couple of options with this smoothie. I love this smoothie as just plain chocolate, but I always add peanut butter because like I said the combination of the two is my favorite. I like to have it this way if I am wanting just a sweet treat after dinner or post workout. If this smoothie is intended for a meal, I like to add both spinach and banana so I am getting more calories and more nutrients. I will also be satisfied longer. You can also add kale, but beware kale has just a tad of a bitter taste and I can detect it in this smoothie recipe. However, it is still good with kale. I love that you can hide vegetables in smoothies without the kids knowing!
We have talked about this a lot in this series, but in case you are reading this post first, protein is such an important part of starting your day right. I have been struggling in the breakfast department so I put together this series of 12 simple but healthy and protein-packed breakfast options to help me get back on track, and I hope it is inspiring you to eat healthier in the mornings too. This protein smoothie recipe should be a favorite for both kids and adults alike!
