My daughter’s turned age six and two during the month of December and we celebrated with a Rainbow birthday party. If you’ve been following my blog for long, you know we love to celebrate birthdays in a big way, however, my goal is to plan parties that are affordable (and reasonable) and easy to pull together. The girls had an amazing Nutcracker Birthday Tea Party last year, and I was glad that they wanted something bright and cheery for this year. I’m excited to share these colorful rainbow party ideas with you today!
We went through so many party themes before landing on a Rainbow Party. Unicorns, Strawberry Shortcake, and Care Bears were in the running. Our oldest daughter is the definition of a rainbow, she is typically bright, cheery, and full of dreams, so I thought it was a perfect theme for her. As with all our birthdays, we start with a theme and then we search Pinterest to pull together our favorite ideas.
December was a very busy month for us. Not only did we have the typical Christmas festivities to plan and celebrate, but five of our family members have birthdays within about six weeks, we were still in the midst of a renovation, and we had two out-of-state weekend trips planned. I’m thankful the girls are happy to share a birthday party!
-The matching rainbow cakes. I loved the fondant rainbow cake topper!
-The rainbow-colored macaroons.
-The rainbow cupcakes in chocolate and vanilla (I try to offer two flavors at parties to give our guests options).
-The rainbow-shaped cookies (the icing ended up messier than I would prefer but the shape and colors were super fun!)
-The rainbow gum balls (my oldest daughter’s favorite candy) and suckers.
-The rainbow balloon garland and decorative details.
-The table set up for the girls with rainbow color plates, cups, napkins and straws. I loved the way the table looked with matching for each place setting!
-The girls’ matching rainbow shirts we found at Target.
-The rainbow invitations I made in Canva!
